This past weekend I uncharacteristically took it easy. I read, cleaned my kitchen (that’s fun for me!) and immersed myself in James Vincent McMorrow’s, Early in the Morning. 
Hailing from Dublin, JVM has an engagingly unique voice which is a complete breath of fresh air. You probably will have heard the song ‘Higher Love’ featured on the LoveFilm advert recently. The album was self- recorded in an isolated house by the sea and it has that feel about it. The melody and lyrics make this a stand out album. I can’t pick a favourite track, but I love the lyrics for ‘If I had a Boat’
breaking at the seams
heaving at the brace
sheets all billowing
the breaking of the day
